Morton Consulting is in the process of reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates for a Business Analyst opening with one of our customers in Glen Allen, Virginia. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed analysis, defining and documenting business requirements, and acting as a liaison between the business users and the IT development team. The Business Analyst will work with the Project Team, Product Line Leader, Business SMEs and Sponsors, Configurers, Developers and Vendor partners to gather and document business requirements, and in addition, review and confirm design specifications for the automated rate/quote/bind system for property and casualty accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and/or conduct product requirements gathering sessions with the business users
  • Complete functional business requirements templates that will support the required coverage, rating, referral, forms attachment, underwriting and data capture/screen rules for each product
  • Prepare the requirements documents to be uploaded into HP Quality Center and maintain them in the repository throughout the project life cycle
  • Function as the liaison between Business users, Designers, Developers and Testers
  • Provide Project manager with progress status, issue, risk, scope management updates
  • Partner with Project Managers and the business community to ensure that project issues are reported, resolved and/or escalated as needed
  • Produce high quality, detailed and accurate documentation
  • Review Designs and Test scenarios/cases
  • Research defects found during Testing
  • Follow Change Management Process
  • Participate in Show and Tells with the Business SMEs during the Build phase

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Property and Casualty insurance
  • 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst role writing requirements and working throughout all levels of an organization,  previous underwriting or claims experience is a plus
  • Business systems implementation experience as a recipient of a new system, requirements gatherer for a system or participation in user acceptance testing for a new system is desired
  • Excellent organizational skills and attentiveness to detail
