Morton Consulting is in the process of considering candidates for an opportunity that we have available in Blacksburg, Virginia as a Senior Network Operations Engineer – Voice. This is a full time position where the resource will be responsible for monitoring and managing clients’ Infrastructure, Unified Communications Applications and Security environments from a 24×7 operations center.

Requirements:

  • Provide training and mentorship to Operations staff
  • Perform configuration changes and updates to systems to enhance the Quality of Service (QOS) for our customer’s voice systems
  • Provide Level II and III troubleshooting incidents to resolution and identify root cause
  • Work hands-on with various technologies and provide thought leadership regarding Voice-Over IP (VOIP) technologies
  • Integrate network and voice quality monitoring tools into a service delivery platform that improves the efficiency of our operations and improves service delivery for our customers
  • Support new customer implementations as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CCNP or equivalent networking skills
  • CCIE Voice or equivalent voice skills
  • Scripting experience preferred
  • Strong problem solving
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self- driven and highly motivated
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Experience with Cisco voice solutions (CUCM, Unity, UCCX, CER) routers, and switches a must
  • Experience with security technologies a plus
